Discover the of beauty of Tanzania  as you pedal through the diverse landscapes around the base of Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 metres ,19,341 ft), the highest mountain in Africa. The tour will take about 407 kilometers and 5690m of elevation gain which will all be covered in 7 days. Itinerary

From your arrival, you only have to worry about enjoying yourself and pedaling. We will pick you up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO),transferred to your overnight accommodation near Marangu town, situated at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

After Arrival you’ll have short time for rest before our meeting. At the end of the afternoon, we will present the trip, checking the bikes, share recommendations for riding safely here, and outline in detail the itinerary. We will resolve any doubts to guarantee a pleasant and enjoyable trip for everyone.

This day includes dinner. If you arrive very early in the morning we will help you organize your time so that you can enjoy Tanzania until the time of our meeting.

Early in the Morning, after breakfast we will start our ride about 1400 meters above sea level, at Marangu village, located in the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is one of the famous places in Tanzania recognized as easiest route for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro nicknamed Coca-Cola route.

Along the way today, you will engage with Mt. Kilimanjaro’s inhabitants Chagga people, the third-largest tribe in Tanzania. As we continue, cycling pass through greener eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro our journey will lead us through dirt roads uphill into the deep dense of Kidia forest in rich of flora and fauna.

We will make short brake for refreshments and then continue downhill towards Moshi Town. You will cycle through the suburbs and outskirts of Moshi Town on the back roads as you head towards the Weru Weru village where our first day end up here ready for your next day to Maasai Land.

Our first ride today takes us through initially coffee and banana plantations along River Weruweru source from Mount Kilimanjaro.

Our first water break stop will be on more fertile areas of southern Kilimanjaro at Masama Chagga village but the second stop for lunch will be in the west which will be more arid open plains and acacia woodlands. Our destination in the west is at Sanya juu in Maasai land.

The plains in West Kilimanjaro support a remarkable variety of wildlife and spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. As you reach your overnight stop, you will start to enter the area where wildlife roam freely. While Moshi is home to the Chagga people, west Kilimanjaro plains are home to the nomadic Maasai people who co-exist with the surrounding wildlife and it is why this area is known as the Maasai Land.

Your ride starts on the wide-open plains dotted with acacia trees and you will be keeping your eyes peeled for the wildlife around you. On our First stop today, you will get to known Enduimet Wildlife Management Area, which is one of Tanzania’s best-kept secrets. It is between Arusha National Park and Amboseli National park borders, which Amboseli serves as a protected migratory route for wildlife including the African elephants.

Primarily the Maasai people inhabit this area but there are large populations of other tribes such as the Chagga, Meru, and Pare people. It gets greener as you approach the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro where a lot of cultivation takes place.

Your cycling tour today ends at Simba Farm which is situated on top of the vast wheat and barley fields overlooking the west Kilimanjaro plains. Originally, Simba Estate, it was built in the early 1900s and is now a working farm set in 7,000 acres, with elevated and stunning views across the Maasai Lands.

Today we are going to climb the oldest peak on Mount Kilimanjaro, which is about 3872m above sea level.

Our first stop today will be at Londorossi Elevation 2200m, 9km from Simba Farm Estate.

After all formalities at Londorossi gate, we will continue with uphill ride passing through Rain forest zone to Moorland zone. Moraum picnic site (3407m) will be our second stop for snacks and refreshments before heading to our final destination for the day, which is Shira, plateau,

At Shila plateau (3872m), you will enjoy scenic views from Kibo peak (on clear day) covered with snow.
We will take some pictures, and then we will head back down riding on 3872m downhill slope until Simba Estate. So hold tight to your bike.

Today we will cycle towards the northeast side of Mt. Kilimanjaro to Nalemoru village near the Kenyan border. Nalemoru village is where the Rongai route up Kilimanjaro starts. Your ride today takes you through beautiful open farmlands with breathtaking views from west Kilimanjaro plains behind you and Endless from Sinya plains close to River Amboseli.

You will cycle passing several vibrant towns as you head up the foothills of the mountain towards the Rongai forest. Your ride today ends at the Snowcap Cottages, which are nestled right on the edge of the Rongai forest. On a clear day, you can enjoy amazing views of Kilimanjaro’s Kibo and Mawenzi peaks

After a couple of tough days, this one will be more relaxing and enjoyable. We will take a smooth downhill ride to Lake Chala, a unique caldera lake, fed by underground springs from Mt. Kilimanjaro.
We will have time to enjoy the lake and its great diversity of life, forest, plants, and birds.

We will then spend the night by the lake, telling each other stories surrounding bonfire.
If we reach early at Lake Chala, we will have some time for kayaking on the lake.

Today’s ride starts uphill on a gravel road, then onto a paved road through plantations to Marangu village. It’s a bit challenging with some short, steep hills.
We will pass through banana and coffee plantations as well as the friendly Chagga people you can greet them by saying “Jambo!” in swahili language as you cycle by.

Before getting to your lodge, we will take a detour to Kinukamori waterfalls for some local history before the last downhill ride to the lodge for the night.

At the waterfalls, you can stretch your legs and walk down to the caves. A local guide will brief you about the history of the area, people, their traditions and customs as well as the mystical legend about the waterfalls.

You will finish the last downhill to reach the lodge, which marks the end of your incredible 7-day journey around Mt. Kilimanjaro on two wheels. We will seal off the evening with a celebratory dinner to mark your achievement.

You will be able to sleep and rest well in your hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the airport or another place of departure from Moshi will be organized for you.
